We had a session with jewellery a week or so ago, and I took a few shots of Paul as he was working. Jewellery and other small objects are extremely difficult to photograph because they have very reflective surfaces. We did our best to reduce those reflections and only keep the ones we wanted in the photo! In the behind the scenes shots, you can see how we ended up lighting it with a huge octagonal softbox, using a light table as the background and a piece of fishing wire to hold each earring up. Setting up this kind of a shot is the trickiest part, because once you have the lighting down pat you can put several different products in the same scene, and get a consistent, clean look to promote your business!
